“Perfume: The Story of a Murderer” (German: Das Parf?m – Die Geschichte eines M?rders) is a 2006 film directed by Tom Tykwer, based on the novel Perfume by Patrick S?skind. Jean-Baptiste Grenouille has a unique talent for discerning the scents and smells that swirl around him, which he uses to create the world's finest perfumes. As of October 2006, the “Perfume: The Story of a Murderer” had received mixed reviews by critics. Reuters described the movie as "visually lush, fast-moving story", stating as well that the director "has a sure sense of spectacle and, despite its faults, the movie maintains its queasy grip". This movie is truly terrifying and yet it shows very little blood.
The concept (I haven't read the book so I'm basing all on the film) is amazing and Whishaw scared me shitless as the psychopath who murdered lots of women to extract the purest and most alluring perfume ever made.

Very original horror film24 July 2011

The concept if horrifying, but the imagery is brilliant and drifts off into halcyon scenes to illustrate how the killer sees the world. In his mind, he is an artist, taking his 'art' to new levels, though this means death for some unfortunate victims.
