«Arthur et les Minimoys» is a part-animated, part-live action feature film adaptation of the same-name, 2002 children's book and the 2003 sequel Arthur et la cit? interdite / Arthur and the Forbidden City by filmmaker Luc Besson, who also directed the film. Ten-year-old Arthur has a lot on his plate: a real estate developer is about to snap up his grandma's home - and there's no way Arthur's going to hang around for his parents or grandparents to sort out the problem. Maybe the solution lies in his grandpa's treasure, which is hidden somewhere on the "other side" in the land of the Minimoys. «Arthur et les Minimoys» premiered in limited release in France on November 29, 2006, and received wide releases in a number of countries in the following weeks. Interesting take on this tale. I was pleasantly surprised. I liked the story a lot. It was really nice to see something new for a change. There are not too many clichés in it, and the little acting that is in the movie is quite good.
